Major newspaper fires cartoonist for anti-Trump images

Political cartoonist Rob Rogers worked for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette for 25 years, earning a nomination for the Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning along the way. Rogers crafted this brilliant image depicting Trump’s Family Separation Policy and his Administration’s overall relationship to immigrants. It was one of a series of Rogers’ strips which could be seen as critical of the president’s policies.

Thin-skinned, just like Trump: His paper, however, refused to publish this cartoon. And OTDI 2018, they fired him. Why would they do this? Well, the Post-Gazette’s editorial pages drifted noticeably to the right after a change in ownership, so they became more protective of Trump's image (literally and figuratively).

Ironic isn't it, in light of all the current GOP hand-wringing about "free speech?"

Btw, for the 2020 election, 47 major American newspapers endorsed Joe Biden. Only seven endorsed Donald Trump...including the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
