GOP Gov to Trump: “If you had done your job…”

From the beginning of the Covid pandemic, it was clear that the federal government was insufficiently prepared to test large numbers of people for the virus. So, throwing up his hands, Trump told the states to act on their own to try to save their people.


So, one Republican governor, Larry Hogan of Maryland, went ahead and bought half a million test kits from a South Korean manufacturer for use in his state.


OTDI 2020 Trump attacked him for doing that.


“The governor of Maryland didn’t really understand” what his Administration wanted governors to do, claimed Trump. Even though it was exactly what Trump had directed them to do.


Perhaps Trump’s real motive for attacking Hogan was that Hogan had just been quoted detailing his frustrations with the Trump Administration. “I was frosted because my team was saying that the F.D.A. approval was going to hold it up,” Hogan said. “I didn’t care and was going to get the tests anyway.”


Finally, somebody fired back at Donald Trump. Why couldn’t more GOP governors point out the obvious like Hogan did? A powerful, and rare, tweet from one of them:
